Why Memphis?
Memphis is a wonderful place to experience all four seasons of the year, each being about four months even. Spring time is usually rainy and 50-60 degrees F, with trees leafing green and beautiful flowers blooming all over the city. Dogwood and magnolia trees are common, as well as azaleas, crape myrtles and daffodils. Summertime is very beautiful and sunny, with temperatures reaching up to the high 90s F. The weather in Memphis stays comfortably warm and sunny from April to November, allowing as much outdoor activity as possible. Autumn is usually cool and beautiful, with the trees changing colors and temperatures not going below 40 f. In the winter, the temperature usually never goes below 20 F. There are occasional warm days, which always seem to surprise residents although they are not uncommon. It only snows in Memphis about one day of the year, and although it is beautiful and the city practically shuts down to enjoy it, the snow usually melts after one or two days.
